Has anyone been to Epsom Hobbledown with children this age?

Thinking about taking my grandchildren five and 8 to Epsom Hobbledown.

Have you been and what was your experience there? I’m not keen on huge crowds which is one of the reasons I’m asking.

Hobbledown is great.

It's a large site so even if it's busy there should be quieter areas.

Your grandchildren are the perfect age for it. Have fun.

My DD used to LOVE it there, from about age 4 to 6. She’d still have enjoyed going age 8 if she’d had a younger sibling to use as an excuse! We used to go at quiet times wherever possible as I don’t like crowds either (nor does DD) but even at a busy time I think you’d be fine, it’s big. Maybe just try to get there early before it peaks. Have fun!

I used to take mine until they grew out of it around 10. They LOVED it, have fun!

Yes. My children are 5 and 8 and they spend so much time there we have an annual pass.

I would say that the 8 year old is starting to age out of the soft play bit, but the outdoor areas are so vast, and over summer the events they have and things like Zorbing and high ropes are great.

Oh and we’ve obviously been a lot, I wouldn’t ever call it huge crowds. It can get busy but never overwhelming, especially outside.

Yes it's great. There is the animal bit and the playground and the soft play, so it's a full day. Playground is massive and with 2 kids it's hard to supervise both constantly so you might want to prime them to come to a particular place if they need you. Some of the climbing frames and tunnels might be too much for a timid 5yo, but I accidentally lost a 2yo down there for about 10 minutes (traumatic memory!)

Yes it's great! Lots of playground equipment for the 8yo and interesting animals. The bird of prey centre is good too
