Sofology sofa is so uncomfortable

I've bought a new living room set for the first time in my life and its so uncomfortable, I want to cry. It was so comfortable when I sat on it in the shop. Its the sofology Hackney range, 3 seater sofa, cuddle chair and footstool. Ive spent about 2.5 grand and it looks like you cant return unless its faulty. Will it break in and get more comfortable???

Apparently it can take 6-12 weeks for a sofa casinos to soften up.

They do get softer, we have recently got one from there (I don’t think it’s the Hackney but is very similar) and I was surprised at how much harder it was. We have previously had a sofa from there and it did get softer, not sure how long it took though.

I thought the same, but we’ve had our Sofology sofa for three months and it’s definitely more squishy, especially the cushions.

Okay, thats a bit reassuring. Hopefully it doesnt take too long to get more comfortable. I cant believe how hard and uncomfortable it is.

It will.

i cried my eyes out when I first sat on our new sofa as it had been delayed by a year 😭 and then felt absolutely rock hard and I kept almost sliding off it

It was the most uncomfortable sofa I’ve ever sat on. For about 3 days

Dont worry . It will settle down

It will break in.If you have toddlers in your life or young children get them to jump about on it a bit and keep changing where you sit on it so it breaks in evenly. The reason its softer in the shop is purely because people have been sitting on it, your new one hasn't had that yet but it will

Is it bespoke? I’d at least register your concerns with their customer service team and let them decide whether the sofa will soften or not.

We had a bespoke leather chair from John Lewis, similar cost and when it arrived it felt very hard compared to the one in the shop. They refunded us, saying that they couldn’t promise it would soften up. I appreciate it’s not JL but you still have rights. If it’s not bespoke I’m sure you can return it within 14 days. If it is, if definitely contact them to find out where you stand. Good luck.
