Has anyone been to any of the following Celtic Festivals? I'd like to attend all if possible (read affordable).

Any recommendations?

Festival Interceltique de Lorient (Brittany, France)

Celtic Connections (Glasgow, Scotland):

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (Ireland):

Hebridean Celtic Festival (HebCelt) (Isle of Lewis, Scotland)

National Eisteddfod of Wales (Wales):

Yes the Festival Interceltique de Lorient is great fun. I think it's the first week of August.

@brittanyfairies Thank you.

Did you go by sea or train?

The Eisteddfod many times.
I'm interested in Lorient, but it's usually at the same time as the Eisteddfod.

Isn’t Celtic connections a very different beast to hebcelt? Admit I been to neither

Celtic connections lasts about and month in winter and you book individual events at various venues and had a broad musical base with lots of international artists whereas I think hebcelt is a more Scottish festival kind of thing

you can go on iplayer bbc Scotland and gets lots of Celtic connection concerts ?

I live just down the the road so I drive. It's very doable by train so I'd look at the cheapest option. Even a cheap flight to Rennes or Nantes and take a train

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is a huge sprawling affair with competitions, concerts and loads of busking and free shows. It moves every 2 years, its Belfast this year and next year. Its great fun, but Ive only been to it in smaller towns where it takes over.
