Lost things not always lost

Last night was lying on sofa with head on DP's lap watching the football. Earrings were annoying me so took them out and asked dp to put them safely on the side. Drink was taken. I forgot I'd taken them out until this pm.

Only one pair on the sofa arm where he'd put them. My most favourite earrings ever were missing, a white gold and diamond pair of studs. Turned living room upside down looking for them. Nowhere.

As a last resort decided to go through the rubbish bag which had been put out today. Gloves on and went through it.

I FOUND THEM!!!!!!!!!

What a great day!

Just sharing.

Oh that's brilliant OP.

I'm ashamed to admit the number of earrings I've lost over the years. So upsetting. And my family got to the stage of refusing to buy me earrings as presents because they said I would only lose them.

Well done you for finding yours.

Still grieving over a single georg jensen butterfly one I lost in the garden about 10 years ago... Oh and a wee fire topaz one which I lost about 20 years ago!

In the camper van this weekend and said to DH do be careful my ring is on the work surface I took it off to wash up, don’t throw it out.

Five minutes later I watched him throw it in the bin, neither of us could believe it.

Apparently he thought it was a can ring pull 🥴
