Late 40s, slim but could fake a pregnancy- please give me your tips that have worked?

I’m late 40s, always been relatively slim, am around 5 foot 2, really not overweight and a bit under 8 and a half stone but any single pound of extra weight goes right on my belly. After a meal I honestly could pass for pregnant as it is so out of proportion. It makes jeans and trousers so hard to buy and wear. If you have successfully tackled this and lost the belly what worked?

Is this just how you have always carried weight or have you checked for any food intolerance that might be causing bloating after a meal?
If it's just bloating then I usually find water with meal helps me a bit

Thanks, it’s not just bloating, it just is even more noticeable after meals. In general this is where any weight sits and because I’m generally small it’s so noticeable. And seems to have hit me strongly in my late 40s

This is also my problem. I'm early 60's, 5ft 2in and slim except for a large stomach. This has only just really happened in the last 8 months or so. GP wasn't really any help - it's age etc, but I'll be interested to see if anyone has any tips

Just me that thought you wanted tips on how to fake a pregnancy?!

It is the carbs. Or middle-age spread. Or a natural predisposition to be an 'apple' shape. But anyway, it might be worth mentioning it to a GP so they can rule out anything untoward.

I don't mean to be all doom and gloom but have you seen your doctor?

I have friends who had large round tummies on slim frames. One had a 25cm cancerous tumor in their stomach and the other large fibroids.

Also, is this normal for you, or just recently through the heatwave? Because I get "heatwave belly" - big, round dome belly in hot weather. It isn't digestive at all and goes away the same day as the temperature cools down.
