How do you pack for holidays?

Are you a roller, a cuber or a traditional folder?

Going on holiday with adult DCs.
Two of us are rollers, one swears by packing cubes and DH is the traditional folded flat packer.

Obviously no right or wrong way, just curious!
Going to add poll for extra nosiness.

I have a carry on, large carry on (I think the total for that is 17kg), and an 18kg bag on my next holiday and I’m not 100% sure it’s enough 😂

I also do lists & tend to pack the day before. I like options but I never overpack.

Now I'm wondering if you are the friend I mentioned earlier! 😄

I've taken pics for you.
We've never had any problems with it washing undies and sweaty t shirts.

The hand wash in hotel bathrooms is my emergency washing liquid. I never use anything else! I do throw in a few pegs, the big ones to clip the washing onto the back of patio chairs in case there's no line/airer on the balcony. I had two weeks in Rome/Ostia last year and honestly, despite packing so many different options, stuck to the same three combos for day and a different set for night. I just washed and hung on the back of a chair. Dry in an hour.

Obviously I only pack uncrushable stuff, it's something my late mum told me - always crush the fabric in your hand before buying for hols, if it creases discard it. Muslin/cheesecloth is great for this. There are other fabrics too, and believe me I have them all!

@parlona yep! That too, if it's extra smelly or stained then a bit of hotel handwash/shower gel/shampoo (I'm convinced it's all the same product!)
or if you're lucky, washing up liquid will get used too, especially for the under the pits area!

For me it entirely depends on the bag I’m bringing. This is me packed for 4 days in Rome. Just need to add my toothbrush. ☺️

I fold, but put some categories of clothing (folded) in separate plastic bags, e.g. tops, skirts, dresses, underwear. I then fit bulkier items such as cardigans and shoes around them. Jackets I lay on top.

I put dirty laundry in a separate plastic bag to wash when I get home (hence current username - I had to use two bags and nicknamed the second one 'dirty laundry II - Revenge of the Dirty Laundry.) Thanks to the hot weather everything was washed, dried and put away within a day of getting home 😊

fold dresses shorts n t shirts
my tip - I always pack a change of t shirt shorts/ one dress or shirt and knickers in other persons suitcase - just incase

Lay it out on the bed in outfits pants fill in the gap at the handle crevice, bras fit into the rounded corners toilet bags and heavy stuff at the bottoms at the wheels then chuck everything else into the gaps left
I’ve become an expert at taking the bare minimum

I keep all my holiday clothes in packing cubes all year round- yes I wash them after each holiday. If i want anything out of thr cube i wear, wash, dry and repack. It means i have very little packing to do. I also atore the packed cubes in a dedicated holiday draw. Works well for me!

With the sheets it's one less 100ml liquid to take into account

I like buying clothes on holiday but it means that on our flight back the Ryanair 20 kg (3 people) allowance needs to be ROLLED to vacuum pack level, backpacks filled with books etc.
We also take tatty underwear and tshirts to throw away and make room in the suitcase.
If we’re self catering I do a wash a couple of days before we leave so we’re taking mostly clean clothes back.
I can’t stand coming home to a dirty house AND lots of laundry so I’m currently doing a deep clean. Bathrooms down, rest still to go.
