Fortnum & mason as a teacher gift-too much??

Ds has 5 teachers in Reception, the main one will still be his teacher in Y1, now at the end of term i m looking to buy a gift they could all share so I was thinking a box of chocolate but a bit fancy…found one at Fortnum & Mason, husband says it might be too fancy considering it’s pricey. What’s your opinion on this? Would this make them feel uncomfortable?

A box of chocolates to share. They work together but dont live together presumably so how would that work? They aren't staying as the same team next year by the sound of it either, so they'd have to divvy them up or scoff the lot on the last day of term. The fancy posh chocs will end up wrapped in blue paper towel and shoved in handbags to take home. Takes the nice shiny fancy edge off it, doesn't it?

Give them a smaller ‘normal’ box each. With maybe a voucher for the main one. They can take them home, save them for a bit if needed or give away if they don’t like chocolates.

5 teachers is a lot for one class! Do you mean 1 or two teachers and the others are class TAs/1 to 1 TAs? I’d probably give a tin of biscuits or chocolates to share.

I think it’s a bit much. I’ve got ours a box of thorntons 🙈😂

Honestly get them a nice card with a heartfelt message inside. That’ll mean far more than chocolates or toiletries or Best Teacher mugs that no teacher ever wants.

Yes, I usually go with whatever’s on offer at the time 😆

That’s a good point, but some of the edibles are shared in the staff room especially if you give them 1-2 days before end of school.

Yes, that’s correct. But would like to give my appreciation to all of them as my son spent time with all through the year and likes them all.
noticed that something that could be shared tends to be more popular rather than something for each.

I went through my DS whole school life without giving any gifts to teachers and support staff. But that's just me.
Buy a gift if you want but don't overthink it. Most stuff bought for teachers will be in charity shops before the end of the holidays, unless edible.
