How can I make sure two wonderful paramedics are recognised?

This may sound silly to some who will say they were just doing their job but I had two paramedics come out to me this morning who were simply incredible. They were so thorough and stayed with me for an hour and a half. I have a few different things going on health-wise and they made sure to check everything out one by one. I won’t go into personal details but basically they truly went above and beyond.

So is there any way I can get these ladies recognised? I obviously thanked them at the time but I wish their manager could know how fabulous they were. They must see such awful things and I’m not sure if there’s an occupational reward system in place for them or who to contact?

I guess your local ambulance station. The one that serves your area and the hospital you got sent to?

I believe you can reach them directly via PALS. I was told this by the paramedic who gave evidence at my Dad’s coroners inquest. He said if I ever needed him again, to go via PALS. PALS therefore might also have an idea of how to contact their superiors with some praise?

I have had a few good experiences with paramedics, they are truly amazing people on the whole.

I emailed PALS but never had a reply. I hope my thanks made it to the paramedic.

If you go on the website of the ambulance service of the area where you live (eg London Ambulance Service, West Mids Ambulance Service etc) there is a contact email where you can send your thanks in usually. You don’t need to know their names but you can say the date/approx time and location and they will be able to trace the crew that came to you and pass your thanks on. These are usually shared with managers or published on the intranet or similar.

My daughter is a paramedic and her ambulance service uses Greatix to give feedback on great practice and excellence. Your ambulance service should have a link to click on their website for you to give feedback.

You can pass comments to the service but please don't do a big social media thing - lots of people value privacy in their work.

You could send a letter to your local paper as long as you don't state their names.

Write to the service with your name and address and approximate what time you were seen, they’ll be able to get the information from the computers and send anything you want to the paramedics. A thank you card is always really appreciated!!

Oh gosh yes a big social media thing isn’t me at all, just an email will suffice. Thank you everyone for the suggestions, I’m sure I’ll track them down using your help.
