Best generic token thank you gift about £5

Not wine or chocolates. Flowers would be over budget.

I need to get thank you gifts for 6 people I don’t know well to thank them for volunteering for something. What would your go to gift be?

There are really nice hardback notebooks in Ryman in all colours. There are £9.99 but they are but one get one free. I have gifted them a lot over the years and they go down well. I’ve just gift 2 a4 ones as part of a leaving gift for a colleague. Also I use them at work and people walk past my desk and ask about them as they are really nice. Hope this helps

If they put in time and effort for you, can you do time and effort back? Can you do nice 'handmade' without it looking cheap? Bath salts, jam, biscuits, etc

You can usually get a nice simple bunch of flowers like tulips or roses for £5. If biscuits are suitable, something boxed, eg M&S Florentines come in a nice box and are just under £5.

I know this is audience dependent, but M&S have little succulents in ceramic pots at £6. I bought a cockatoo one the other day, they had other animal options. I have no clue why I liked it, I really shouldn’t have🤣, but it was so cute.

@allymccoist - would you feel much about a generic token £5 gift? I wonder f it wouldn’t be a waste of time unless the item was something meaningful to the group.

If you could stretch your budget to £7 these hand painted cards are utterly treasureable. (Also if you buy 6 you get another free.) Just acknowledge each volunteer’s individual effort and tell them how grateful you are.

Yes, coffee shop gift card…for Starbucks/costa is a nice treat. Even if not a coffee drinker they can get a sweet treat

You could buy 5 or 6 packs of different nice herbal and fruity teas that are individually wrapped in paper, mix them up and put them in those transparent cookie bags with a ribbon around them. So each person gets a selection bag of different teas.

Even if someone doesn't drink them, they'll have guests who would and they have a nice choice.

Lidl have mini terrariums in this week for £4.99 and they are lovely. They looked quite small in the brochure but I went in store and they are much bigger than they looked and they are lovely, I picked up two and they contained two succulents each, soil, gravel etc. I got one for a brownie leader and one for myself!

M&S have bunches of sunflowers for £5. I'd be very pleased with that as a gift.
