Any tips on decorating a hallway when the cats are little vandals . Wreck proof wallpaper/paint

They have access to outdoors .
They have scratch toys and a tower
They wreck soft furnishing and hacked a piece of wallpaper off the wall (it was a tiny bit loose so that encouraged them )

We're planning hard floor for the hall and maybe a stair runner , not got that far yet ..
We need to paint the woodwork and choose something for the lower wall it's a 30s house with dado rail and picture rail, ) upper part will be re painted .
Not decided on colour but I just want ideas on what will be safe .
I saw some panel effects but DH won't go for that .

Any tips ?

Why won’t he go with panelling? It’s the obvious choice especially with a dado.
Our newly decorated hall has a scratch in the wallpaper from one of our dogs getting excited jumping up when DH came in from work. Happened in the first week after it was finished.

He doesn't like the look of them'

A heavy duty paper with one of those wipeable paints is more his thing, you know the ones that are supposed to be child proof .

(If it was me I'd paint gloss on the paper so their little paws didn't get a grip .. Could be a new trend ....)

Nooooo, they're family , better or worse .
We had a cat before , she was a carpet wrecker but where she found a loose bit . This pair (we have two) are little villans .

Just need something they'd think "ohh , new paper , not worth my effort"

I wouldn't bother if they're only going to scratch at carpets and walls again. What's the point? It will cost a lot and be ruined again in no time.

I would either train the cats or rehome them, I couldn't live with cats that wrecked furniture.
