Has anyone bought a car through Cinch or similar online salesrooms?

Has anyone used an online car salesroom, such as cinch, and what was your experience?

My car has died and can’t be fixed. I really need one. I’m biking it to work and back at the moment, but I live fairly rurally, and I can’t get anywhere to buy a new one.

TIA.

I bought a car from Cazoo and my experience was very good. Straightforward. It was three years old I think.

Just do your research and be very careful to understand the precise spec.

I collected which was actually very pleasant but they do deliver.

I've had two cars from cinch. One was perfect, no issues, still going strong. The second had a fault almost from a start and it fell under the warranty. Cinch have been super slow to fix and it took almost 9 months, 6 of which the car was not usable. It's fixed now and all is good but I found post sales support pretty dire.

Following because I'm looking for a car and on auto trader there are so many cinch cars but I'm wary of a car I haven't seen.

Thanks, Kate. I’m just looking at one of theirs. They seem very reasonable.

Good to know. Sounds like a real pain!

I have had a car from Cinch - amazing customer service, really fast delivery but the car has had a few problems and of course, not covered by warranty 🫤

I was talking to someone I know

Their car from one of these dealers was supposed to be serviced and have a new MoT

Needless to say it had neither

I think I have found a car locally. I’ve emailed the garage to ask about warranties etc.

Given the replies here, I think it’s luck whether you get a good experience or not.

Mine is from Cinch. Doddle to buy it, and no issues with the car for years it's been great. My neighbour ended up buying hers through them as well because we were talking about it.

Don't forget to do a full MOT history check on any car you are considering though, I found an issue I wasn't happy to deal with on one car I looked at online.

Buying any second hand car has an element of luck to how mechanically sound the car is

Cinch don't sell a special type of car and obviously there's no correlation of one car with any other

The important factor is the customer service imo, trustpilot is a good place to start

I bought my car from Cinch. It was very straightforward and I’ve not had any major issues with it. There was one small issue within the initial 90 day warranty and Cinch were very good about quickly getting someone to fix it. They delivered it to the house and it was very simple, just checked my ID and gave me a quick talk through the features.

Yes, my reasoning was because of the comments around customer service, rather than the actual cars.

I bought my replacement car through Cinch.

1st one - how it got through their "30 point check" (or whatever) I have no idea. They were willing to fix the faults identified but in their approved garage - which was the other side of town! No thanks. That went back under the 14 day money back guarantee.

2nd car - no problems whatsoever - plus they gave me a discount because of the issues I had with the 1st one!

Take it into a trusted garage and get them to look at it for you. Test EVERYTHING. I had faulty back demisters which I wouldn't necessarily have noticed - especially if I'd bought in a heatwave!

Sorry to revive a thread but my car is also kaput and looking for something quite niche which i can't buy locally, and certainly not within reach of my bike!

How easy is it to return it if unhappy, and how long do you get to 'try'? Do they deliver quickly or do you have to wait a few weeks?

Truetoself · 01/08/2026 04:52

I think Cinch is OK but it all depends on the car

AlphabetCucumber · 01/08/2026 06:49

Edit: didn’t realise this was an old thread I’d already commented on!

I bought a car in Cinch 3 years ago - all was great. It was delivered to the door and the delivery driver gave me a familiarisation session so I felt confident to drive it. Also gave me a chance to check around the car to make sure I was happy with it and would have taken it back there and then if I wasn’t satisfied. The ability to return it for a full refund in 14 days gave me confidence too , which I saw as an extended test drive. No problems at all, teh car was perfect and I would recommend Cinch on the basis of my experience. Only thing is that this was 3 years ago, so I cant vouch for the customer service now

Summerhillsquare · 02/08/2026 10:05

Thank you. I see that Car 360 has better Trust Pilot reviews.
