Ideas for a low-key day out together in the heat

So, it's still bloody hot and I'm not really up for being adventurous but I'm missing my daily walks with DH, which have been on pause due to the heat, and I yelled at him (I blame the heat) for just existing, yesterday.

So, I thought it would be nice if we went out and did something together but I have no idea what there is to do?

We work a lot, and don't really socialise because we're on the road most of the week and, because our DCs are all grown up but others our age have little ones, so there is sort of a social disconnect, if that makes sense. They all do very child-centric activities on the weekend and we're just the third wheel at these things despite good intention.

So, if anyone can suggest some couples stuff for the day, that would be lovely and I'd be very grateful! I'm just not that imaginative and have been stuck in a rut due to work etc so my brain cannot seem to create something for us to do to break the monotony.

I suppose it depends on where you are and how far you are prepared to travel.
The weather has cooled considerably today in Norfolk.
I will be taking my dog to the beach later followed by a bag of chips

Whereabouts are you?

Can you find a shady wood for a shorter walk?

Cinemas will have air-conditioning.

Go somehwere with a paddle friendly river like Carding Mill Valley or Belbroughton. Or wherever is similar near you.

Apologies!!! East Midlands! Happy to venture out further to do whatever! Thank you!

Go to the swimming pool
Visit any large cool or air-conditioned attraction - cathedral, art gallery, museum.
Cinema.

Or just walk much earlier or later.

You could potentially go to Beauvoir for a wander around or Skegness

For something a bit different - Go somewhere scenic and watch the sunrise. Take a mug of tea and cold bacon butties that you made the evening before. Should be cool enough to walk a little and makes a nice memory.
