I’ve finally decided that now is the time to tackle the National Three Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon). I am absolutely not doing the 24-hour challenge—I value my sanity, my knees, and my relationship with my teenage DD far too much! We want to actually see the views, enjoy the climbs, and not do it all on zero sleep in the pitch black.
I live in the Highlands, so we will use home as our base for Ben Nevis (I actually climbed it about 30 years ago, though I suspect it’s a bit busier now than it was in the 90s!). The plan is to drive down south from here to do the other two over the course of a week.
I’d love any wisdom and tips from Mumsneters on places to stay, what to pack things like that.
