What do Sainsbury's delivery drivers usually keep in their van cabs?

Shout out for anyone who knows a Sainsbury's delivery guy. I'm working on a sainsbury's ad and I need to personalise the cab of the delivery van but I can't find any pictures anywhere. If anyone knows of a sainsbury's delivery driver can you find out what they put in the front cab. Water bottles, air freshners, pics of the kids, bobble head anything. I would be very grateful and you never know it might end up on the ad.

I don’t think it would be photos of kids etc as they just have shared vans!

WorthySloth · 09/07/2026 16:26

I worked home delivery for Morrisons. It would be a water bottle a rucksack with their lunch in and a clipboard with a paper copy of where they were going just in case

WorthySloth · 09/07/2026 16:27

Pressed send too soon 🤣🤣 as they were shared vans up to 3 drivers could use them each day. Plus they were always breaking down so nothing was ever left in them.

Beryls · 09/07/2026 16:27

I'm assuming it wouldn't be personalised as it's not their van?

Victims and chunky yorkies.

Darragon · 09/07/2026 16:30

Why aren’t you just using a real van OP? Or go to Sainsbury’s and look at one. Then you’d know what was in it. Is it an AI ad?

Victims? 🤯 What - like kidnapping victims or summat?

This is Sainsbury’s we’re talking about!

Bjorkdidit · 09/07/2026 16:38

Wouldn't you just ask Sainsburys you're working for them. They'll obviously want their vans to look 'on brand' and not flout any of their rules eg they may not allow air fresheners.

Plus if you're in advertising surely you must know about not stereotyping and showing a range of people in a situation, therefore a delivery driver might not necessarily be a 'guy'.

TheScreensNurseTheScreens · 09/07/2026 16:40

Shouldn't you be getting that of sort of info from Sainsbury's as, you're, you know, presumably getting paid by them?

JulietteHasAGun · 09/07/2026 16:41

Shared vans so nothing.

No, that's Asda

Weird question. Surely you're working for Sainsbury's if you're advertising them? Most companies would have very strict guidelines on how you represent their image and staff. Delivery vans would need to look clean, tidy and neutral. I can't imagine Sainsbury's would want the driver's ham sandwiches in their adverts.

An empty bottle to pee in.

😮😮😮, I did wonder about this once lol. I just assumed that they would pop into a petrol station or something and use their facilities or maybe in desperation ask the customer 🤔

DillyDillie · 09/07/2026 17:18

@Fiftyandnotsonifty I remember a thread, The Bottle had been tucked into the top of a box and delivered. Householder not happy.

LemonLymanDotCom · 09/07/2026 17:28

Sometimes you read a thread which really shows how little people know about the subject before commenting

OP likely doesn’t work for Sainsburys so wouldn’t ask them direct, they likely work for an advertising agency, might even be a freelancer

Also, why would it be AI? It might just be at storyboarding stage… to jump right to is it AI, why wouldn’t you use a real van demonstrates a huge lack of understanding of how the process works & the level of paranoia about AI seeping everywhere

OP just wants to know what a Sainsburys driver keeps in their van and Mumsnet is as good a place to ask as any

AI van indeed 🙄
