Suggestions for shops buying jeans for teenager

Our eldest needs some jeans for college as they have barred tracksuit bottoms.

Not bought jeans for a while as a family - think H at M&S last time

Are there any shops which have a big selection of options? John Lewis?
Can get to London for this task from hell if that helps. He has big thighs - which I think will be the hardest body bit to fit so any suggestion on brands for big thighs to narrow the hunt appreciated.

Dh prefers next for jeans as branded ones are £££ he says they are better than M&S

RampantIvy · 09/07/2026 07:53

Second Next. DH has long legs, and Next actually stocks jeans that are long enough for him.

Depending on where you live, the retail outlet at jct 32 on the M62 has a Levi outlet.

How old is he? My teenagers would rather die than wear Next, M&S or anything stocked in John Lewis, and I mean literally die 😆 mine buy theirs in Bershka, Stradivarius, Pull & Bear, all shops found in any shopping centre, they are also v cheap. H&M is worth a try too, and Hollister. Most teenagers wear baggy or flared jeans so should be easy enough to fit his thighs

Have a look at carrhart, hollister, & all those mentioned by greyts. Levi too but ask staff what style, they will be c£100

TwoBad · 09/07/2026 08:27

Urban outfitters, Ed Hardy jeans. That's what all the teenagers are lusting after round here

frozendaisy · 09/07/2026 08:39

He’s 17/18
would prefer baggy

we do and don’t care about cost they last jeans and he’s not going to grow up any more

just his thighs

I am so out of the loop and haven’t heard of some of these shops/brands

he isn’t a brand boy but might be able to drag him in with the promise of baggy

thanks all - a disaster of a shopping trip awaits!

And just another question

these baggy brands are they just jeans blue or are there other options? I am assuming black would be available?

DS like Jack Jones - mainly because they’re baggy and come in 36 L. He’s not bothered by brands as such but is quite fussy about look and feel. As he’s very tall slim fit looks odd! We buy online but they do have a store in Oxford Street- maybe others as well.

Will have to go Oxford Street but that’s not a problem!

Zara do great jeans for teenagers

Loads of colours will be available, the Zara loose fit men’s jeans are good and they come in maybe 5 different colours including various shades of blue. If you are going to Oxford Street then Zara is likely your best bet. Levi’s are terrific too, and last forever

frozendaisy · 09/07/2026 10:26

Thank you all

Yes Oxford street it will be

Getting him into a “trendy” shop will be the first battle
Then convincing him there is a Jean for him he just needs to try on
Then getting him into a changing room

I am taking best friend, possibly other best friend and little brother as back up/lynch mob!

So a nice cheap day out

I’d think about going to Westfield rather than Oxford Street, so many shops are not on OS anymore, all of the brands mentioned will be in Westfielda

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 09/07/2026 11:20

Uniqlo, there is one on Oxford Street

@frozendaisyeither.

Oxford street is better now- massive Pull and Bear and Berska etc. Bigger than in Westfield Shepherds Bush.
