DD has threadworms. It has been 5 days since we all took Ovex but she is still itching rampantly:. Is this normal? We have been changing and washing bedding, clothes, pyjamas, towels etc on 60 since we found out with frequent handwashing. It doesn’t seem to be doing anything. We also coat her in sudocrem to help with the itching but it’s still really bad and keeping her awake. Advice please!

It took about 18 months for me to be able to getbrod of my son's worm issue. Just gave him a treatment every 6 months. Have you also treated yourself?

I think the life cycle of the worms has something to do with it. My whole family got it when my child brought it home so be very careful! We had to do it twice I believe- 3 weeks apart ? I believe a clove of garlic up the bum helps ..I may or may not have done this.

Stop the sudo as it may be irritating.

Also you must shower thoroughly around the bum and fingernails first thing in the morning as thats when the eggs are outside the body. You have my sympathy as I remember it even though it was years ago. It didn’t come back after the second treatment .

This. Really important to do this every morning as soon as your child gets up. Wash all around the bums, and hands too

Yes we have all taken the medication. I suppose I just wondered how long the itching goes on for - the prolonging of the itching worries me that the medication hasn’t worked!
