I live in a terraced house. Back yard, backing onto a back lane.
The house almost directly behind me charges his work vehicle (self employed) in the back lane over night.
The issue is the noise it makes. A buzzing, whirring, humming noise. It's so loud I can't sleep with my bedroom window open. I can still hear it with the window closed but it's not unbearable.
I was under the impression EV charging was silent? This definitely isn't.
There's no point me addressing it with them. They're very inconsiderate. When they've had work done on their house, it spills over into the back lane. Their builders worked inconsiderately early (I think his work was done on the cheap, out of hours). Their skip was there for far longer than the 2 week booking period. Rubbish blew out and up and down the lane (they never cleared it up themselves). They pile stuff up in the back lane and leave it there for weeks.
It's not the end of the world, not being able to have the window open at night. But in this heat wave, it IS annoying.
Anyway. IS it normal for an EV on charge to be this loud?
