Mumsnet Premium- can you search by username?

Hi! Wondering if it’s worth getting Premium, mainly cos I’m curious when PP can identify OPs who have posted under different usernames and can see all posts by a PP, ( I know we can all see all the OPs posts)- I wanna do that! Not for any nefarious reasons, but there are some wise women on here and sometimes I’d prefer to read their posts one after the other!

I don’t believe this is a feature.

This is obviously a marketing ploy to get users to pay for the premium version 🙄

You can search usernames without premium. I highly doubt premium will give you all their other usernames though.

Christ, all hell would break loose if we could see previous usernames, although I imagine some people would be willing to bay BIG money for the privilege! 🤣🤣🤣

You can click on a username in a thread and see all posts by them, in the same way we all can with an OP.

You don’t need premium to search by user name. This is how to do it on the app:

1. click the search icon at top of page
2. click top right - photo 1
3. that takes you on to advanced search where you can search by name, topic etc - photo 2

I imagine it’s similar on the browser.

This is different to 'see all posts' which the OP seems to be referring to.

'See all posts' (for Premium users) means you can just click on a persons name when they're on a thread, and immediately see all their posts on that particular thread.

Just pay the £2 for a month and find out.

You cant cross reference user names and see a list of names a poster uses.
People remember stories. There are some posters whose story or writing style is so unique that people remember and its just obvious from the story that the new user name is the same poster

Ah, right. I thought she was referring to being able to search any pp’s (not just op’s) previous posts/threads. It must be years ago now, obviously before the “premium” feature, when you used to be able to click on any of the pps names on the thread and see all their posts on a thread, same as you can still do with the op (and any pp as a premium member now) now. Obviously since then all of the other names are 🔒. I wonder what percentage of users have bothered with the premium (I’ve used that word too many times 😁) feature? I’m not sure what other benefits are to it other than that.

Ahh see I've been on MN over 15 years and I never remember a time when you could do that, but obviously you could (and still can) use the advanced search function.

I pay £2.99 a month for Premium and it's worth every penny to me, to keep my screens advert-free.
