No gifts request at a wedding

We’re going to a wedding in a couple of weeks that explicitly requests no gifts ‘but let’s make future plans together’. I feel a bit strange about not taking a gift at all but don’t want to go against their request. I’m seeing the happy couple again in a few months (we don’t live close enough to see them earlier), would a card and promise to treat them to lunch on that occasion suffice? My fear is not getting them a gift and then finding that everyone else has!

Just take a prewritten gift tag and if other people have brought gifts just remove their tag and add yours. Otherwise your plan is fine.

Amazing 🤣

dont Get them anything, if you thing you’ll be in a panic take some cash in case of emergency.

i don’t think the promise of lunch will really be taken as a gift tbh, I would just do it in a few months anyway and not mention it now
