Anyone listening to Sara Cox this morning and finding her too much?

Has anyone listened to Sara Cox this morning and what do you think? I think she's way too much. It's like a children's presenter on acid. Daft voices and giddiness.

I am old, but i just can't stand any of Radio 2 any more. I like Trevor Nelson, but I think he's wrong for the afternoon slot.

I found her too much back in the 90s.

I've never liked her - I always thought she was aimed at 12 year olds anyway

I think she comes across as a really nice person, but one who's trying to too hard to be the fun/crazy friend.

She IS too much. I have switched over for the mornings to something else.

However bbc radio 2 has gone so downhill. I was once mega loyal and now its tosh. Alex Jones last week was all over the place. It was hard to listen.

I heard about 30 mins, she was ok. She was a bit clunky with Tom Hanks IMO, he was being super chatty and she seemed to panic about her questions being derailed so it felt slightly forced as she didn’t respond to him naturally but pivoted to a new question. She’s usually brilliant at interviews so I’m sure it was nerves for the size of the occasion and the guest. I wanted her to get breakfast when it went to Zoe Ball so I’m glad she’s got a chance now. I’m sure she’ll bed in over a few weeks. I like her quick wit and her energy which I think are well suited to breakfast.

Poor Trevor Nelson is poorly and won’t be on the radio for a while. I do like him , he is a natural.

I haven't listened to her but I remember this thread making me laugh about her saying Scooby Dooby Doo endlessly. Sounds bonkers.

I met her many years ago at a festival and she was lovely.

Most radio presenters are egotistical borderline immature. They really have ruined R2 over the last ten years. There's not much difference between R2 and R1 these days really I feel.

she's okay but I can only tolerate her in small doses. there's something about her chumminess that irks me eventually.

still, better than Scott Mills with all that vomit inducing "love you bye" rubbish.

Radio Five Live and Radio 4 massively dumbed down in recent years, and Radio 2 is insufferable these days.

It's only commercial radio for me these days.

I normally like her but she sounded a bit forced today, perhaps nerves? It’s a big deal to have the flag ship show, particularly under the circumstances.

I do hope Trevor is back soon too.

Love Sara Cox far better than Zoe or god awful Scott Mills. Also love Rylan and Lisa Tarbuck especially together.

I thought of that thread too when I saw this ones title! Sounds insufferable.

I am ancient and I prefer Radio 1 to Radio 2. I cannot stand the faux cheery chat, the insane perkiness and utter banality of R2. There is far, far, far too much talking.

At least on R1, the speaking interludes are brief and they are trying to be "cool", so it isn't middle-aged inanity. Plus I get to listen to contemporary pop music and pretend I'm still down with the kids.

Oh I think she was probably just a bag of nerves this morning! She’s sat in on brekkie in the past covering for Zoe/Scott and has been fine. The interviewing skill is probably what didn’t get her the job ahead of Scott, but I think she just has to believe in herself a bit more. She will get into the swing of it in no time! I was very sceptical about Trevor in the afternoons but I love the show now and gutted he’s off! Pleeeeease radio 2 stop hiring comedians/travel presenters to fill the gaps, eg Ellie Taylor, Richie etc. How about giving some real DJs an opportunity for a change

Yes yes yes. Way too much for that thing me in the morning. So frenetic I can't keep up with what she is saying and follow what she is saying. Didn't understand any of the quizzes and links to her teatime show as I only ever listened to All request Friday show. I have grown up listening to Sara and Zoe Ball as a child and didn't like them then. For that time in the morning she is gonna need to calm down. We have heard the gorgeous measure voice of Gary for weeks and Chris Evans was amazing before that. C

I really like her. Give her a chance I say.

I liked her when she presented a TV programme called Back to School

I’m really missing her on the teatime show, I like Sara Cox but not first thing in the morning.
