6 year old home party - help!

My son is turning 6 and we're having his party at home for the first time ever! Does this sound OK?

2hr party
7 friends
They are going to do a craft (painting plant pots)
I also have some air dry clay I thought we could craft with.. I was thinking a short activity as the plant pots may take longer
Party games, maybe some kind of finding activity where I've hidden objects and they have to find them.
Lunch (basic party spread, sandwiches etc) served 1hr in
Then they're going to decorate and ice cream sundae for dessert as wasn't sure if it'd be quite hot.
Maybe end with party games as I think there'll be about 20 mins left

Do I need a craft or activity for them to do whilst they arrive? I'm mostly getting parents to just drop the kids off. I think 1 may stay but she's very helpful so I don't mind the extra hands. Do I need to do free play to let them burn off steam? I kind of want to control the craziness within reason.

Any suggestions or wise advice gratefully received!
