Just popped into The Range for some bits and pieces…
Greeted at the doorway by Halloween stuff!

Its July 5th… Wimbledon is on, schools are having Sports days and picnic and outdoor lessons…
There was ornaments, fluffy pumpkins, witches, bedding, rugs, candles… the whole bloody lot!

I used to work in retail, and I know that stuff comes in almost a season ahead of time - but really?
In early July??? 😱😱

It's been normal for ages now. See also Easter eggs in December and Christmas stuff in August.

Yeah I'm not shocked anymore as it's been going on for years.

Mind you it doesn't affect me anyway, although it still looks strange.

Brilliant, I love Halloween.

Oh I like Halloween, and the colours of Autumn, and all of that time of year, ( I’m a Bonfire birthday gal ) but I was just a bit 😳
as we’d had to fight our way in to the shop over the paddling pools and deck chairs!

July is ridiculous isn't it ? Asda was selling "summerween" nonsense basically ghost stuff on pink cups and 💩

TigTails · 05/07/2026 14:38

Tat shops are full of tat. Not a surprise.

In the immortal words of Tim Burton “Halloween is every day, isn’t it? For some of us” It certainly is in our house anyway. I have skellys everywhere, skull decor Jack Skellingtons around and clothing all year round and I just noticed some pumpkins that I didn’t put away either. Mind you my living room is decorated as the Hogwarts Great Hall so….

And what about the American ‘Christmas in July’ thing? Seems to have recently been boosted by American TikTokers (is that what they are called?!?) At least we have been spared that. So far.

Crikey! Never heard of Christmas in July. …

Maybe it’s because July is a funny month, schools breaking up with weeks to fill, weather can be all seasons in a day, some on holiday, some not… I dunno.. it just surprised me.

A couple of years ago around this time of year the Home Bargains “seasonal” aisles contained all the summer picnic, garden and pool toys etc, Halloween things and Xmas stuff!!
