Has anyone had problems with cataract surgery?
I had both eyes done about 18 months go.
But I went from 1 pair of glasses to 3.
I currently have 20% vision in 1 eye and 80% on the ither that apparently they will fix at some point.
I wish I'd never had cataract surgery but I'd probbe worse now . Arghh

I'm realky sorry you are having difficulties after surgery OP.

I had both my eyes operated on - the left eye in January this year and the right eye a fortnight later.

I had been short sighted most of my life. My vision leading up to the operations was dreadful and deteriorating rapidly and I ended up having the operations done privately.

The left eye, which had the worst cataract, has been realky successful and i'm pleased with that.
I've had nothing but problems with my right eye. The cataract in that one was not so well developed but I had a long history of allergic reaction and problems in that eye. I tried to communicate the problems properly prior to the operation but I feel I wasnt listened to. Post operation the visionisn't so good and I have had an ongoing issue with blepharitis and at one point an eye infection.
Mysituation isn't as bad as yours OP in that i'm definitely better off post operation-albeit having to wear reading glasses. But the problems in my right eye are impacting my life and I feel disillusioned with the whole thing. All my life I've been against private health care and this was my first experience of it. I feel annoyed that I had to use it and annoyed I paid a lot of momey for not first class treatment.

Have they checked that you don’t need Yag treatment on your eyes. About 18 months after my cataract op I realised that I couldn’t see much out of one of my eyes. The lens had clouded over and I needed Yag ( laser treatment) to clear it,
It is a pretty common occurrence about 15-18 months or so after the surgery.

Unfortunately ive had Yag laser 3 times, 2 times in my goodish eye awaiting 3 time in my shit eye. Its so not good.

I’m surprised they haven’t changed the lens again to see if that helps. The whole thing sounds so frustrating for you. I can sort of relate as I am recovering from my second detached retina in the same eye and they are not certain what vision I will have afterwards.
