News full of Taylor Swift's wedding. I mean who, other than her friends and family, should actually care. The sycophantic fawning is nauseating. What skills do these "celebrities" actually have to warrant such obsession? Are they finding a cure for diseases or working to end poverty/hunger/war? Nope. Screwed up world.

Why would the Kardashian’s be there? She literally disappeared for a year because of Kim Kardashian’s actions that caused global hatred for her because she edited footage to make Taylor look bad

I get that. I'm just glad that such a high profile event doesn't include them for once. I'm sick of seeing them everywhere.

Im not obsessive about celebs but I am mildly interested if they do something noteworthy or mental (being in the public eye is kinda their job!).

No idea about Swifties wedding but I did see one headline calling it childish and narcissitic which I thought was rude.....its literally her 'special day' and she has enough money to do whatever she likes for it!

I went to see the Stones - twice - in the late 60s. It was a total waste of time and money, the screaming that started up as soon as they appeared on stage meant you could not hear a note. Literally nothing over that deafening, deafening din.
’Twas ever thus.

My MIL tells a similar story of going to see the Beatles in the 60s. Said she couldn’t hear any of the music at all and it was a waste of her money 😫

Regarding Taylor Swift, I understand the fawning over her by younger women, they grew up with her music and women who had a lot of lovely times watching their daughters dance about to her music.
Yes her music is loved, like all music, as it partly reminds people of good times.
All fair enough. No criticism from me on that at all.
I sort of feel the same way about I should be so lucky

It's the gen X women or older that get on my nerves who are Swifties.
You see they just have to frame it as some form of feminist empowerment or some such.
They can't just say I enjoy her music because that wouldn't be earnest or 'worthwhile' it has to be that she is a great songwriter and a shining example of feminism and if you dislike her music you're a misogynist or some such nonsense.

You know what most of her songs lyrics are co-written so if there is genius to them (which I dispute) it ain't all down to Taylor.
And they're written for young girl/women who identify with the lyrics and that's just fine.
But don't call me a woman hater cause I'm an adult female who at the age I am thinks her songs are trite.
