Massive new sofa regret

That's it - I hate my new sofa. Had the last one for 12 years and it was an impulse buy that was ex display. I never loved it to look at - traditional neutral colour, but I now realise it was so comfortable. I spent ages choosing this one and it's shit.

This one looks good but everything else is awful. I can't rest my arm properly, it's really hard (kind of expected that at first), there are these weird bulgy bits on the back that look good but are bloody painful, it's slightly too high for me, the seat isn't deep enough which forces me into a weird angle and ends up being painful... I hate it. It's all wrong. Whether I sit or lie it's shit.

My old one (which is torn at the bottom and had the very back bit starting to come away, but with no impact on comfort, and also grubby due to pale colour and me giving up a couple of years ago when I started contemplating a new one) is still out the back as the council can't collect until September. I am seriously considering getting it back in and then moving this one to the back room (where I seldom sit) where it would replace another one that is very tatty, loved, but too low for real comfort.

Or will I get used to this one?

How long have you had it? They're always horrible to start with. You settle into them.

Can you get some cushions and throws that you love to make it comfier and more homely?
We paid a fortune for a bespoke L shaped leather sofa just after Covid. It looked great but was never comfy. The one in the conservatory that was only £500 was really comfy!
We gave our FTB the leather one when we moved as it wouldn’t have fit in our bungalow.

I'd move the new one to the back room and give serious thought to getting a fitted cover made for the old one.
