Finding another role after redundancy

I’d really appreciate some advice as I’ve started panicking! I was recently made redundant after almost 10 years in a senior comms role (was promoted twice during that time). I’ve got a decent payout that will tide me over for between 6-9 months depending on how frugal I want to be. But I’m panicking that I won’t get something on the same level (I earned about £80k in the south west). For context, I am 48 and going through perimenopause and all I keep hearing about is how difficult it is for women of a certain age to get jobs because of their skillset and AI and younger employees being cheaper. If you’ve been made redundant recently, how soon did you find something else? Did you have to drop down a level? Should I be mastering AI to make myself competitive??

Thanks to Brexit, I was made redundant shortly before my 47th birthday. It was very frightening at the time but it actually turned out to be brilliant for my career - it pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me into exploring options that I might not have otherwise considered.

Should add. I dropped down initially to take the first job that I could find (a mat cover role), as I figured it was better to be in work than out of work. But then the next job I took (and the one I'm in now) was a significant step above the role that I was made redundant from.

Do you have any local competitors who might snap you up?

No, quite a niche company (and I was based from London one day a week) but it was very much FTSE100/manufacturing/industrial so I think lots of transferable skills
