Inpost lost my return H&M parcel - what can I do?

I returned a big H&M parcel several weeks ago using an Inpost locker. I recently checked the status of the return to find it had not been registered with H&M and I did not receive a confirmation from Inpost. I wasn't sure what I was going to do and assumed I would lose the money, questioning if I'd even sent it back.

Today, the parcel has turned up at my front door returned to me. It's been placed in a plastic postal bag. the paper H&M bag is inside. Yesterday was the last day i could return the parcel. Now I can't return it, who should be liable? I can't find an easy way to contact Inpost or H&M and actually speak to someone.

H&M live chat is actually helpful. Go there first

If the worst comes to the worst and you're stuck with it all, you could put the clothes on vinted and maybe make a bit of money back that way. New with tags always goes quickly for me.

Why was it returned to you?

That'll be pretty relevant to what happens next.

Can you see the InPost tracking and see what happened to the parcel? I would think the next step if H&M won't accept the return is to make a claim against InPost following their complaints procedure. They are responsible for not delivering the parcel which is what you (or possibly H&M) contracted them to do.

Okay - I have found a phone number for H&M. I will ring them first and see if they will extend the return date. Panic over.

I've no idea why it was returned to me or how!
