Plopsaland in Belgium - anyone been?

We are staying in Belgium for a two week holiday this summer and I've just discovered Plopsaland is about an hour away by train. I have had a quick look at the website but only have my phone so a bit restricted. Has anyone else been? I will explore the website further, but hearing from people who have actually been makes a difference.

It would be me and my almost 8 year old. We have been to Legoland twice and loved it, but haven't been to theme parks apart from that. I'm not a rollercoaster person but did enjoy the Dragon at Legoland - don't think I'd want anything bigger/higher. Are the queues long? Anything I should consider? Any tips/suggestions/endorsements?

Yes, we had a great day there when the kids were teens. It's a really good theme park with lots of rides for all ages. Very good value if I remember correctly. And quiet! Barely waited to get on anything all day.

My daughter is in her 20s now but still talks fondly about going there for a Year 6 daytrip (yes, day, a very long day) so my reference is old but she absolutely loved it.

Sounding promising, thank you both!

You can have fun having photos taken next to signs that say Plopsaland if nothing else!

We enjoyed it when DC were similar age, it’s got fun theming and plenty of non-scary rides

We went a couple of years ago when the kids were 7 and 3 (nearly 4), there were plenty of rides for them both and we all enjoyed it.

i found the north coast of Belgium was very pleasant and child-friendly, pedestrianised promenades along the sea front with ride-ons to hire and play areas from time to time. There is a cool sand sculpture place too.

We went for a couple of nights in the Easter holidays. Had a lovely time. Good mix of rides. I loved Wickieland. Dc1 had to be dragged away from Ride to Happiness. Dc2 loved Heidi and Big Splash. Mayaland was a surprising hit for both kids (11 and almost 8). They liked the slides, soft play and smaller rides as much as the big ones. The baguettes in Mayaland are some of the best theme park food I've ever had. Staff all seemed friendly and helpful.

Consider staying on site if possible. We liked the aqua park as well and tickets are included (or at least they were in april).

Queues weren't massive even though it was school holidays in Belgium/Netherlands/Germany/most of the UK. Had plenty of walk ons and repeat rides without having to redo the queueline.

All 4 of us would like to go back at some point.

Yes! We did a bit of an extreme day trip a few years ago. It was great. The theme park knew its job. It was clean and staff were friendly.

the rides were great too!
