Whose watching in your house tonight?
Are you all watching together on the same TV?

The three of us are off to meet my dad at the pub!

ImpatientlyWaitingForSummer · 01/07/2026 14:49

Thank you for the reminder that I need to stay off mumsnet from 5pm 😂 not because I’m not interested, quite the opposite. All the England games have been on so late and my partner and I are severely sleep deprived as our youngest is not sleeping well so we haven’t been able to enjoy them. So I had the fabulous idea of saying we’ll record the match so our one and two year olds don’t ruin it distract us, and when they go to bed at 7pm I’m making us a lovely tex mex style buffet bar and we’re going to watch it two hours late 😂 hydration breaks, halftime commentary and all! So the only hurdle is avoiding any messages, social media and now mumsnet!

I’m not English but my DP and my adult DC are, so I’m happily supporting England and feel quite nervous for them.

I have noticed though that for England to be able to score I have to be in the bathroom. Funny, that.

At home. I wouldn't want to watch in the pub. You can never see properly and you don't concentrate as well, plus don't need drinks

I'm at work and a few of us are going to the pub at 4.30 (London). I'm not buzzing about it though as previous matches have been a bit boring.

Yeah, agree on that. Plus we can have a picnic at home that doesn’t cost three quid for a bag of crisps.

Honeyhonayboo · 01/07/2026 15:43

DH will watch it at home. I’m not English so idgaf.

Buzzlightfear · 01/07/2026 15:55

DH is at work (and also allegedly boycotting this world cup but has watched the last two England games 😄). So it'll just be me and the dog watching at home. Probably with a gin and tonic!

GoneWithTHeWindJammers · 01/07/2026 16:39

Lots of cars speeding past my house to get home or to the pub in time to watch the game.

HelpMeGetThrough · 01/07/2026 16:42

Didn’t know it was on.

I’d say my boys will be watching it. Not a chance I will, I’ll hit the Sky Planner for something else to watch.

mondaytosunday · 01/07/2026 16:46

I am but my DD could not be less interested. My son though - but he doesn’t live with us (my DH passed away years ago otherwise I’m sure he would have left work early).

GoneWithTHeWindJammers · 01/07/2026 16:55

Not so many chavvy plastic flags fluttering on cars this World Cup. Maybe that's a good sign?

There’s a load down here.

I’m going to be watching at home with DP having had a lovely lunch out with a friend today 😁 funnily enough Heart FM had a guinea pig on who has predicted every England game’s score in past years got every one right (don’t ask - me neither !) but has predicted we gonna lose this one lol

Chickydoo · 01/07/2026 17:08

Do you need to go to the toilet yet please?

HoobleDooble · 01/07/2026 17:19

I’m watching, everyone at work laughed when I drew DR Congo out in the sweepstake so I’m happy either way!

GoneWithTHeWindJammers · 01/07/2026 17:21

Who are you following if England go out? ME - it's France.

BillieWiper · 01/07/2026 17:24

What a terrible start. If Congo park the bus for the rest of the game it'll be sayonara.

This happens to the premier league team I support. Sometimes DH send me off fo a strategic wee!
