Where can I park near Stansted before an airport pickup?

After your amazing help with O2 parking can anyone help with Stansted?

I am looking for somewhere ideally I can park for free and have something to eat, stretch my legs, before picking up from the airport.

MN was also excellent when I needed to park at Luton and signposted me to the retail park which was excellent.

Stansted Mountfitchett village? It’s about a 15 minute drive from the airport. A couple of pubs where you can park and get a meal.

BIL waited at the Weston Hub Cafe in Takeley. It's a business park but it was somewhere to sit until we rang to say we were out and he picked us up in 5 minutes.

You can park for one hour free at the mid stay car park, or it’s £2 for 2 hours. Just pick up the free shuttle bus to the terminal which takes about 15 minutes. Or park at Birchanger services which is free.

Use the free drop off / pick up at the mid stay car park. 1hr free, 2 hrs is now £5.
Off site Hatfield Forest national trust, or Freeport shopping village aren't far depending on which direction you are coming from.

Be very careful with the McDonalds and Starbucks at the mid stay services - you cannot park in one and walk to the other without risking a massive fine. It’s notorious.

If it’s a short wait, there is a big Caffè Nero (with a drive thru) and Burger King very near the pick up and drop off point. Max parking one hour.

If a longer wait, Birchanger services (free parking), Hatfield Forest (free for NT members), Stansted Mountfitchet or Bishops Stortford are all good options depending on what you’re looking for. Bishops Stortford will have more shops and food options open later than Stansted Mountfitchet but you’ll probably have to pay to park in a car park.

Depends on how long the wait is. I usually stop where the Caffè Nero is. Free parking for an hour
