Party Bag Ideas for 8yo boys

Looking for inspiration please! Football themed party, but as we’re at the end of the year I feel like everything has been done already: water bottles, small balls, books about footballers…

Budget £4-£5.

I definitely don’t want to do a bag of plastic tat, but something which could keep them [briefly] occupied? They’re an active bunch.

Thank you.

UV spy pen, rubix cube, sweets?

Fidget Toy?
couple of packets of the World Cup stickers?

You can often get bundles of Lego poly bag sets (new and unopened) on eBay that work out about that price each, so you could give each boy a mini Lego set and some sweets?

Or a water pistol each if the party is outdoors and you’re ok with them having a quick water fight at the end.

Sometimes you can get a very small nerf gun for that budget.

Mini torches - you can get packs on amazon or they’re for sale in places like millets etc. Really useful too.

Bubble wand and water pistol.

Key ring or fidget toy plus sweets

Iloveeverycat · 30/06/2026 17:49

Pokemon cards. Football cards or stickers.

shellyleppard · 30/06/2026 17:50

Pens and post it notes in novelty shapes. Going down very well, plus actually useful

Baseball cap with their initial on. Ideal time of year!

If they are an active bunch, how about those small balls that are on string that you attach to your wrist. Then they can do keepy ups with them- my kids love these

Party bags contents just end up in landfill

My DS was really into jokes when he was 8, so perhaps a football themed joke book. Or maybe a search and find football book?

HEC2746 · 01/07/2026 13:47

Something like this magnetic ball game, maybe buy two and give them all a few balls each and then play the game?

I would go mini-fig lego lucky dip bag, some sort of fidget toy/ stress ball type thing, some tattoo transfers and a bag of sweets.

CrispyK · 01/07/2026 23:45

Handheld mini fan - useful!

applepearorangebear · 02/07/2026 01:17

Full-sized football with a packet of Haribo taped to the side? My son received this once and was thrilled! Budget's about right if you buy in bulk on Amazon.

applepearorangebear · 02/07/2026 01:18

Or maybe frisbees, with obligatory Haribo taped on?

80smonster · 02/07/2026 18:37

A football each, pack of M&S football stickers (free with food), football gummies.
