Just watching Flash Gordon… what were your childhood films you watched repeatedly?

My mum used to record movies and we had shelves of VHS tapes at the back of our living room… I watched so many films repeatedly… favourites listed below… what did you watch?

Grease - this was all day long! Watch, rewind, watch, rewind 😆

We had VHS or Betamax of most of the ones on your list plus Watership Down, The Forgotten Toys, The Wizard of Oz and the cartoon of Robin Hood. We actually paid for a video of Count Duckula! I’ll try and remember any more. We did The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe this year as our school play and the kids loved the cartoon (it’s now on YouTube).

I remember of Lunn Poly and Yellow Pages adverts in between them. 😂

I’ve also remembered Supergirl, New York New York and High Society.

We didn’t have a recorder until I was quite old so we relied on repeats on TV, so I’ll say My Fair Lady and Some Like it Hot which used to be on every Christmas.

That's so weird, there were 4 films I used to watch on VHS all the time, and two of them were Flash Gordon and Clash of the Titans!

The other two were Star Wars and Time Bandits.

I recall lots of Fawlty Towers and maybe Mary Poppins in VHS as well.

This must all have been early 80s (am late 40s now).

Oh yes, Wizard of Oz of course and Return to Oz…. Supergirl too, my sister loved that 😊
oh and The sound of music!

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
And I had the book of the film. Obsessed.

My mum worked on Saturdays, so my dad would take us out and then to the video shop on the way home. It was always The Goonies and one other. We must have paid for the actual cost of The Goonies video hundreds of times over!

For my DC Madagascar. We watched it about 100 times I think. No joke.

So many of these. Also Dirty Dancing. I actually wore that one out watching, rewinding and watching again (esp the bits where Swizzle was extra hot). It broke and I was devastated!
