Bedroom still 29c at night, any air con recommendations?

I’m just going to bed. My bedroom is 29c and I’m thinking great, it’s feels cooler in here tonight. It is cooler but honestly 29c? That’s still pretty hot. I’m seriously thinking about getting air con for my bedroom. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

Lots to consider.

How big is your room? If not massive then a 10,000 BTU will be fine. If bigger you'd want 12,000 or 14,000 BTU or more.

What kind of window do you have - there's two main types of windo seal (plastic window kits, or slats)

They are quite noisy (though you hage low and high settings - low is not as powerful obviously but quieter). Have you slept with a fan before? I'd recommend trying a metal turbo floor fan to see if that noise bothers you.

It's not icey cool - you'd probably get the room down to 22 degrees, will feel cooler than that if angled toward you.

Meaco just bought out a quieter air con, most reviews say its quieter but not all. Its sold out, as are most air con machines everywhere atm!

Years ago I bought a Dyson cool me fan to help with menopause night sweats. It’s still going strong and is super quiet. It keeps the bedroom at a comfortable temperature.

have you considered an awning or blind outside your window? I have created a Heath Robinson outdoor blind with a blanket and it has helped.

I presume you are shutting your curtains during the day.

Yes during the day I have blackout blinds and lined curtains closed. I have a Dyson fan, which is good but my bedroom still gets hot.

Just go on Amazon and order one that’s in stock with good reviews. I did that 10 years ago and wouldn’t be without it!
