What happened to movie songs

Inspired by listening to an “At the movie”
playlist today. Big blockbuster releases always had a song and normally video (trailer).
When did this stop being a thing

Troy Story 5 has trailers and a big song.

K Pop Demon Hunters had a couple of hit songs

I'm thinking 'What's happened to music in general?' 😄 I wish we could have the years back when there was a big race for a proper Christmas No.1 song too!

Toy Story 5 is the first film in years. Wonder why they stopped doing it. I know k-pop demon had some songs but they were released beforehand with a trailer for the movie.

Don;t the James Bond films still have them ?
And Didn't Billie Eilish do one for Barbie ?

They still award a 'Best Original Song' Oscar each year so there must be a few around....
