Activities or hobbies to try

What hobby or activity do you do that a newbie could try out? Nothing that requires immediate investment in expensive equipment to start - I’m looking to dabble, to begin with at least!

I’m trying to get out of a rut of work/school run/dinner/TV being my Groundhog Day routine and discover new things to do with my time. Looking for inspiration.

Bookclub - if you have a kindle, books can be cheaper.

Running - buy decent trainers then download couch-to-5k on your phone, or join local beginners group

merlin app - listen to birdsong and the app identifies them

Sorry, should have said - I mean things out of the house. I’m already a big reader (and TV watcher) and I work from home so probably spend about 95% of my life at home at the moment.

Running is a contender, can’t hurt to get fitter. Just wondered if there are any more niche or unusual things that people do that they could recommend.

Netball is quite popular in our area, with teams for all abilities.

Dog agility if you have a dog.

Art classes
