Why can't items removed from cupboards,shelves and drawers be returned to their original location ?

Peak irritation reached when I returned from 2 days away to find seats of dining chairs round kitchen table being utilised for rehoming things .
And a voiced complaint that there was " no room for anything in this place ".

I feel your pain. Two adult DC at home and I feel I'm still clearing up after them all the time.
