If your kids school is shut... what are you doing today?

DD's school is shut due to the heatwave, in-laws had her yesterday but she's home with me and toddler DS today. Think I'm going to take them to a playground and splashpark this morning to burn off energy, then ice cream and home for lunch. She's reception so no school work set.

What's everyone else doing?

Taking her to my office, she'll be on the tablet all day while I work. That was the solution offered when I explained my childcare dilemma to my manager.

Ahh, I'm sorry @LondonKara- if it helps, tv while we wfh might well have been her fate if I didn't have Fridays off

Ours is open but I’m keeping dc off - it’s far too hot and going to be 34 where we are today. I’ve got the paddling pool set up already and we will do that for a bit early this morning then watch a film then back out to the pool after the sun isn’t blazing in the garden

For cases when my toddlers at home, me and my husband made a decision to buy playgrounds for home, so they can be busy while I'm doing routine tasks
