Portable Air conditioning unit recommendations

Can anyone recommend one? Not only were we all too hot here yesterday, but my dog has a degenerative heart condition and she looked thoroughly miserable at one point, and I’m concerned if we have another heatwave this summer. Every year, for the last couple of years, I’ve said I’ll get one and haven’t, so determined to do it this time!

I know, but hopefully I’ll get one before the next heatwave 🤞🏻

We have Meaco ones which have been great.

I have one. My advice. They come in different btu unit strengths be sure to get one that fits your room size. The cheaper ones are lower in btu. I would recommend getting at least a 9000btu unit any lower and it struggles with keeping a good size room cool.

I got a 8000. It's ok, my rooms aren't huge, venting out the window with the fabric tent is a bit shit. I'm going to buy some foam insulation boards to cover the open window instead.

Seems a daft investment for something that might only be used for a few days a year but I don't give a shit. This week has been hellish even with an Aircon unit in one room🥵🥵🥵

That's what we do, bought a sheet of poster board from The Works and cut a hole. In it for the pipe.
We've had more success with our this year by putting it on top.of a chest of drawers really close to the window, the shorter the pipe the less heat it gives out.
