Does anyone know if you can take loratadine after having Piriton earlier in the day (with no effect)? Have googled it and it says not to take them together but can’t find anything about after the 4 hours have passed from the Piriton.

having a severe hayfever situation 😭

My NHS allergy plan is 10mg chlorphenamine
combined with 40 mg loratadine. If that fails I have Epipens.

Take then as you like

Yes you can

Yes you can 👍🏻 my GP advised taking 2 different antihistamines - 1 each evening and 1 each morning. Fexofenadine and Piriton work best for me - my hayfever is still horrific but it stops me at least having to claw my face off!

I asked my pharmacist this the other day when my child’s hayfever was so bad that her eyes were swollen shut. While she worded it carefully as typically they’re not meant to recommend mixing medications, in a roundabout way she basically said it will be fine

My GP basically said the more the merrier in so many words. Nothing I take individually works so I’m now on fenifexidene (Aldi own is great), cetirizine and piriton nasal spray (not near them currently so the spelling is incredibly wrong). I wish they made me drowsy but no adverse reactions at all.

Thank you all, much appreciated. Yes the red and itchy eyes is the biggest issue we’re having, hopefully it helps.

You can get eye drops for hay fever, suitable from age 8 - opticrom do them, as do others.
