Delivered dog food potentially left in the sun for days

Hi, would like some advice please.
We have dog food delivered monthly. It's a box of wet food in plastic trays. Has to be signed for. We've never had a problem with the delivery. DHL messaged me over the weekend (we've got your parcel, etc) but I didn't take a lot of notice because we've got food left. Then yesterday I started to wonder where it was, and I saw it said delivered Saturday at 9.30 am!
The tracking map showed the next road, photo of a front door that's not ours. But worse, it said "signed for by [our surname]". So I went round - someone has bought a plot, built a new house, still scaffolding, and with no house name outside. I put a note through the door.
This afternoon I had a lovely message from a guy saying he'd got the food, and apologising that he hadn't been there for a week. I went round, the box had been put round the side in the shade. Great.
But, left outside the front door as per the photo, it would've been in full sun for at least part of the day, for more than four days. The food is valid for around a year but says to store in a cool dark place. What do you think? Should I just hope for the best, or ask the supplier for another delivery? I wouldn't worry if it was biscuits.
TIA

I’d DEMAND another delivery.

Your contract is with dog food people. Their contact is with DHL. So you say as DHL messed up their contract in delivering to the wrong address, and you are not party to that contract, only the contract with DFP, they need to re-ship an order. Don’t let them fob you off by telling you to take it up with DHL. It’s not your problem.

I'd ask the supplier for a new delivery, as it was delivered to the wrong address and not stored correctly.

Thank you both. I'll contact them tomorrow.

Update - I sent an email asking if they thought it would be safe to feed to the dog, and they came back saying no, and that they would replace it! What a great company - Forthglade.
