My butt hurts

I have lost some weight. And my tail bone sticks out. It hurts when I sit down even on soft seats like the sofa. Its pissing me off. I thought of an inflatable ring but i shouldn't think that feels comfortable either after a short time 🍑

Memory foam cushion. Game changer. You can get the smaller ones shaped like an office chair seat, or a bigger square sofa cushion sized one.

Are you okay OP? I had this issue at my worst point of eating disorders…a sign I’d lost far too much weight

Not a short term solution but if you build glutes they will provide a cushion.

Ooh this has happened to me too after losing lots of weight. It’s definitely eased off now after a few months thankfully.

Depends a bit on age. Older slim women tend to carry less padding on their bum even if they aren’t underweight. I’m within normal bmi, but lost a lot of fat from my rear end, such that hard chairs are now really uncomfortable, and give me hard patches on my skin at the bottom of each buttock and around my coccyx. I use a foam rowing cushion for rowing and firm chairs.

Have a Google at pilonidal sinus and pilonidal cyst / abscess. For months on and off I had the pain you’re describing, then one day during my period (can be caused in part by hormones fluctuating) I started with intense pain, couldn’t sit down at all, had to kneel by the sofa to eat. It was a pilonidal abscess. Thankfully it went away fairly quickly with antibiotics. I hope it’s not that for you OP, and well done on the weight loss.

Edited

I never thought of that worth a try. Thanks.

I have found that since I lost weight my butt hurts if I sit for any length of time. To make things worse I gave my coccyx a whack on a theme park ride a couple of weeks ago and the pain is awful. I was goingto buy a special cushion but I have been using a travel neck pillow to sit on and it's been brilliant.
