Present for a new mum ....

My next door neighbour is about to produce her first. She has lots of family who I am sure will provide lots of necessities for the baby, but I was wanting to get something for the mum that might make her life easier, especially in this punishing heat.

Any ideas?

My favourite gift after giving birth was a food hamper. It can be made to any budget and really comes in useful (especially if it has lovely biscuits included to eat whilst doing late night feeds!).

Food hamper or a basket of toiletries so it’s about mum rather than the baby.

A nice facial spray, not scented but easy to use and refreshing. My mum uses one but I’ve no idea what brand it is, it’s a bit cucumbery.
Nice hand cream.
Posh ice cream or ice lollies.

Sanctuary gift set from my partner’s employer. Just felt lovely.

Cook vouchers

Food! Lots of bits that she can put on a plate and nibble on when she’s nap trapped - crackers, cream cheese, nice biscuits, grapes etc. and some posh cordials to help her keep hydrated. My best gift by far was a surprise food delivery one morning!

Thanks for the ideas! - it is a while since I have had a baby!

I think I will buy a nice basket/box and fill with goodies from our local garden centre shop which has some gourmet grub.
