Black box insurance

Thoughts on blackbox insurance this with admiral?

We are adults not teenagers -all the threads ive been reading are mostly parents putting their teens on insurance and conisdering this

however we are 38 & 48 - husband only just passed his test!
We never had a car in our 16 years in london as never needed one (I did previously drive for years in Ireland - have my license 20years)

All the quotes were high like 1400£ - but blackbox is 950£

We will only use the car in the week for maybe a big shop in sainsburys - never will be using it at night so the curfew isnt a problem.

Likely only take it out on weekends here and there for days out with the kids

and then for camping trips is the main use this summer.

I've read so many negative things about them - any experience / advice?

My son got a black box when he was 19/20. He didnt drive a lot and the curfews weren't a problem. It was worth it for the reduction in insurance.

He actually got a £100 rebate after 6 months and a second after 12 months

I think he kept it for 2 years when his insurance started to drop.

For a saving of not even £40 a month between you I wouldn’t bother.
