'Paedophile nursery worker could have been stopped'

This is heartbreaking and is only the second top news story today because of the PM resigning.

Nathan Bennett worked as a childcare worker in Bristol.

There had been repeated signs that he was abusing children - complaints that he would hold them for too long, he would take them away from CCTV cameras etc. They were all dismissed.

It was only after a colleague compiled an entire report about his behaviour did bosses then check cameras, and found he was routinely sexually abusing boys aged two and three.

Parents believe he sexually abused many more boys off camera.

He's been jailed for 30 years and the nursery has closed.

It's not clear why bosses kept ignoring all the red flags and the concerns of other members of staff - hopefully an enquiry will reveal all.

That's terrible. The way the poor lady who gave a quote saying they treated the babies like inanimate objects. Heartbreaking. And the colleague who was brushed off when she noticed that foul guy acting inappropriate.

The CEOs of these giant nursery corporations need to take some major accountability. Babies lives are at risk in favour of profit.

I’ve just got off the phone to my friend who is telling me that her nursery is hiring anyone who applies.
6 members of staff left in May and they are desperate.
Previously you wouldn’t be able to get in without a qualification and now 90% are unqualified.
They all have to join up in the morning as there aren’t enough L3 to split.
She’s looking to leave now.
