Norwood London- feel a bit sick that they may not refund me- any experiences?

Hello,

A week ago I ordered a few pairs of trainers from a company called Norwood London. I have wide feet and always find it very difficult to find shoes that fit comfortably, especially trainers. As they are a mail order company, I ordered 3 pairs of trainers, each in 2 different sizes. I didn’t look up the returns policy in detail at the time but it stated ‘easy returns’.

They have arrived, and unfortunately none of them fit particularly comfortably. The smaller size ones pinch at the toes and larger ones are far too big both length and width. So I looked on their website and it asks you to send them an email to begin a returns procedure… to send the shoes back to a warehouse in Asia! Given that the company is called Norwood London, I was very surprised to see they have to be sent back to Asia. I expected to return them at my own cost, especially as I ordered several sizes, but have no idea how much this ‘easy return’ to Asia at my own cost is going to be :/

Also, it was only when looking up how to return them that I saw it stated ‘ordering multiple sizes with the intention of returning incorrect fitting shoes is not permitted’. I have never seen this rule and honestly thought it was pretty common for customers to order multiple sizes of shoes and return the ones that don’t fit- at the customer’s own expense, of course. It certainly wasn’t made at all clear at the time of ordering that this rule existed.

Just wondered if anyone has had experience of needing to return items to this company and how they found it please?

Why would it be in London just because it's had London in the name?
And anyone who knows Norwood, charming as it may be, knows it isn't a well known luxury destination for high quality footwear.

I think yeah, you've definitely been ripped off. Ignore the fact it says the name of a city in the company name.

The website looks AI, they have no address listed for the fake looking store they show. This has scam written all over it. I have been stung a few times by these types of sites. Never get your money back and are left with a cheap item if anything. Sorry OP

When my friend was trying to name his Chinese takeaway, he found an app that was a bit like a slot machine where you pressed a button and it generated a two word name for your takeaway.
Jade Kitchen, Bamboo Palace and so on.

These scam companies are like that.

I know of South Norwood, West Norwood, Norwood Junction, and Norwood Cemetary. I lived in West Norwood for a time, which wasn’t the most glamorous or stylish place. The company or individuals behind this site have obviously just looked at a map of London and plucked a name off it, thinking that anything associated with London will sound stylish. They’ve certainly never been to West Norwood 😬 (Although possibly it’s been gentrified since I was there).

@Waitingfordoggo the gentrification of West Norwood has not yet been successful 😬

I just tried to look them up but my AVG internet security blocked it, saying it was a fake website.

AVG do a free version you can use on your PC or your phone - it's so worth it.

LaliqueSaltGrinder · 22/06/2026 16:35

I use AVG too and it does catch some of these sites - but not all of them.

Arlo and Harris
Ava and Margo
Harrow and Ellis
Elizabeth and Olivia

Grand London
Marlow London
Marlow York
London Footwear

And many more.

Oh no, wish I’d read that first 😔. I feel so daft now, but even now looking at the website with the supposed founders photos on it looks pretty genuine and trustworthy. Will I ever get most of my money back, wonder if I can try via my credit card?

Sadly they’re a.i. Photos

Haha. Yeah and they all put London in the name, along with some other British sounding word that could be a name or a place. It's kind of easy to spot now.

Waitingfordoggo · 22/06/2026 18:52

Ah. Thought that might be the case @Motnight 😬

Yes @BillieWiper, just seen another thread where the OP was taken in by a website named ‘Lune London’.

Yeah we can safely say that if it says London with a random word in front and you've never heard of it before it's a massive scam!

I caught my mum looking at the dodgy knitted cardigan scam adverts and saying she liked them. I had to explain the whole shebang about how it's printed and a rip off! She was so disappointed that I almost think she would've bought it anyway if I hadn't explicitly categorically told her not to. 😕🤣

Haha. I'm glad. My mates used to live there back in the late 90s. There was a cheesy wine bar beneath, and a Kwik save opposite her flat. I liked it! 😁

WhatNextImScared · 22/06/2026 19:37

Looks like another one of those fake profiles where everything is shipped from a Chinese sweat shop

The Kwik Save is now either a vape shop or a "we sell groceries for slightly more than you'd pay in Tesco's but if you want to buy booze we'll assume you are about 30 years old even if you are are in school uniform" type shop!

To be fair there are some lovely independent restaurants and cafes and a Picture House as well.

I must go back there sometime. It always has a place in my heart! ☺️

Waitingfordoggo · 22/06/2026 20:27

Ha! @BillieWiper, I lived there in 2000-2001 so not long after your friends- Kwik Save sticks in my memory and I believe I remember the wine bar, although we used to frequent a pub at the top of the High Street which I believe was called The Horns.

Ah yeah I think I remember it! I swear they're was a gay club up the road as well, or it might have been the back room of the horns? My mates actually did live there at around 01/02. X

Waitingfordoggo · 22/06/2026 22:07

I think I must have missed the gay club but I’ve just remembered a place called ‘Sparkles’ or ‘Spangles’ at the bottom of my road which was almost certainly a brothel 😱

Apologies to OP for the diversions.
