I'm only just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in the conservatory, with dd2 and boy cat. We got in at 2am after waiting to see if security were allowed to hand out setlists, and getting on a coach as far as we could, then an uber 🙈. I asked very politely & was given one!! Dd1 is beyond thrilled to have this one for her collection.

Today will be a very slow day here. There's some washing to be done, and we need something for tea so will be popping to Lidl. I'll get dd1 to come with me when she eventually surfaces. Maybe I'll potter at the garden for a while, or get out front with the weed killer for the driveway 🤔.

Tea will be whatever we buy at Lidl, followed by early showers, and early nights 💤💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam , it’s a very lazy day from here on in; I walked tiddler at 6, tidied up and had breakfast (smoked salmon and avocado on sourdough just because I could!), hung out one load of washing and unpacked the Ocado delivery.
I’m washing the throws today so 3 more loads to do.
I’ve sorted out threads for my next embroidery and put a chicken in the oven for the next few days meals - all salads as it’s going to be too hot to cook.
Dh has gone off to the airfield because he thinks they’ll be gliding so peace and quiet.
I fully intend to spend the day in my Shed doing embroidery and listening to podcasts.
Bliss 😊

Beautiful very warm sunny start here in the NW. I am sat drying my hair in the garden, DH is sat with me, DS1 has just gone to the gym and DS2 is just about to get on a flight home from Budapest following a uni football trip.
We are collecting him later from the airport then going out for lunch in Manchester for Father’s Day/DH birthday on Wednesday.
More football watching later no doubt.
Big week coming up as DH turns 55 and retires on Friday. Then a few days away in NICE booked in celebration. Looking forward to it.

I'm on a train in Italy on the way to the port to board our seven night cruise. Its 35 degrees and there are no seats available. I'm keeping hydrated and listening to Taylor Swift. 30 more minutes then hopefully transfer to port is waiting and we can relax. Have a great Sunday everyone

Morning morning morning

Drinking coffee and trying to persuade youngster his English oral speech is far below his capabilities so he’s redrafting

eldest has been out to buy snacks for his long hot day of chemistry revision (year 12 mock resits because he was an utter flake first time round) he just needs improvement will work on the rest more deeply over summer

whole bunch of PE kit in wash because it’s non-uniform in the heat next week so a school full of sweaty teens in polyester - lovely!
It will be a wash a day and our sweaty hairy monster can hum with the best of them (might take shares out in Lynx Africa)

Dinner is lamb, Greek inspired a light orzo/rice lemon side and crunchy water based salad vegetables

Have a chilled one with the doors open all

well done on set list @lucysmam might have been a long night but a memory box item forever

Ooohletsgo · 21/06/2026 11:14

We had a lay in til 9, kids entertained themselves with cartoons for a little while.

DS7 is now trying to solve the quantum field theory

DD5 is using the laundry basket as a canoe and is going on a site seeing tour of our hallway. She’s going to be upset soon because there’s only 18 minutes left on the washing machine.

DP is cutting the grass before it gets too hot, I’ll set up the tent in the garden soon so the kids can play outside but be out of the sun.

Going to try and get 3/4 loads of laundry done, also need to vacuum the bedrooms and staircases. Other than that it’ll be a lazy day.

Originally planned on collecting my prescription today but I’ll go tomorrow instead when it’s quieter and the kids will be at school.

Good morning everyone, it’s a gorgeous day here today, lovely and hot so I’ve got 2 loads of washing hung out already. I’m trying to relax a bit this morning but I need to clean the house as the dusting and hoovering hasnt been done for a week and the bathroom needs wiping over.

There’s just me and dh up and about at the moment, I’ve told dd11 to stay asleep for as long as she can this morning as she has a late night in front of her tonight but still has to get up for school tomorrow! Dd18 is also still asleep and my sister and brother in law who are living with us until their new house is ready have been away camping in York this weekend. They’re due back at some point today but not sure what time.

Anyway, I’ve had a lazy morning being plied with cups of tea from dh, I’ll jump in the shower after this one and get dressed and make a start on the cleaning. I’m making a roast for tea and then me, dd18 and dd11 are off to watch McFly at Delamere Forest tonight, I can’t wait!!

Purplecatshopaholic · 21/06/2026 11:17

Chilled one here. Lovely day - bring on the sun, lol. Relaxing in my garden with books, doing a bit of pottering around. Doggies mooching round the garden and snoozing. Sainsbos coming in a bit.

DilemmaDelilah · 21/06/2026 12:28

Good afternoon @lucysmam and everyone.

I'm late today because we've been swimming, and then stopped off for McDonalds. I haven't had one for several months and, to be honest, wish I hadn't had one today!

Our towels and cozzies are in the wash. I have sorted out the vegetables and salad from the fridge that won't last until we get home and put them in a bag for the kind neighbour who is going to water our garden while we are away - if he wants them.

Mr Dilemma cooked a batch of his famous flapjacks yesterday and we will wrap those up individually and put a load in the box by the front door, together with bottles of water for our delivery people. Then we will tidy and clean the kitchen ready for faraway daughter.

We're having takeaway pizza tonight so that we don't make a mess of the kitchen again - as we're off on holiday tomorrow morning. There should be enough left for breakfast tomorrow as well.

I'm about to Google journey times (again) so that I can work out what time we need to leave tomorrow. I'm estimating around 9.30, so we have time to stop for lunch and charge the car on the way there. I think we will need to use air con which will eat up battery power. I've booked a facial for 3.30 and I would like to fit in a swim if I can.

Have a lovely day everybody, or at least the best day possible.

PearlsTeapot · 21/06/2026 13:18

Have a lovely holiday @DilemmaDelilah

I'm melting already in my hospital room. Will draw the curtains in a bit as the sun comes round to this side in the afternoon. I'm very bored- only have a week left in here as will be getting discharged and going home next Sunday thankfully.

Might read my book. Just had roast dinner with apple crumble and ice cream for dessert- yummy! I'm reading the Throne of Glass series which is very gripping.

Zanatdy · 21/06/2026 13:33

Travelling back to Surrey after going to see Take That in Manchester last night. What a show. Then chilling and doing very little. Not looking forward to the heat wave this week.

JacknDiane · 21/06/2026 13:42

Ive just been food shopping, its too warm out there for me. But im glad im not in London, those temperatures coming up would absolutely kill me.

@lucysmam, hope you got a strong email sent to your work that puts a rocket up the HT's arse😡

@DilemmaDelilah you and your dh sound bloody lovely doing that for the delivery guys, have a fab holiday.

Thislittlekitten · 21/06/2026 14:02

Afternoon all.

Just been for a very long walk with family and dogs. Hurt my ankle, or I should say re hurt it. Flair up of an old injury.

Im waiting in the car while DH nips into the shop then we will head home where we will all collapse. Very warm here. Not London wether but hot for NE Scotland.

Thinking gammon eggs and chips for tea tonight.

zingally · 21/06/2026 14:46

Went out to Home Bargains for opening time, and got some housey/foody bits. Pleased to find 2 lovely pots of lavender on the display outside for only £2.99 for nice big pots. I'd been looking for some lavender for a while, but my garden centre was looking more like £5 for a much smaller amount. I've been and potted them up already, and put them out on the front drive for a little spot of colour.
Not much else going on today! Some washing is on the line, and the dishwasher is whirring away. I might go and read my book for a bit, and perhaps have a little nap.

DilemmaDelilah · 21/06/2026 14:48

@JacknDiane thank you! We started doing it during covid and never stopped 😁

Blahblahblahhhhhs · 21/06/2026 14:55

Morning (afternoon)

made a bolognaise for tea (mince needed using )but because I’m the only one in atm I’m going to fridge it and leave some wraps and cheese out and they can all have a bolognaise wrap for tea when they get home 🤷‍♂️

been to the coop for pack up bits and made a few booktok videos. After a few successful weeks , last week I only make £25 (plus a £25 bonus) and have sold nothing today which is disappointing, but probably good as I was ready to sack off work and review books all day 🤪

20 work days untill the summer holidays.

oh daughter got her first unit signed off and got an a* - she was rewarded with a pack of wako bars and reminded to get on with the rest 🤪

Rainbow1235 · 21/06/2026 15:04

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 21/06/2026 20:23

Good evening @lucysmam & everyone. I was going to post earlier but the day seems to have run away with me! It’s very hot here & I’m feeling just a little bit queasy. I certainly don’t handle heat so well as I’m getting older. Need to drink lots more water. Currently having a can of Thatchers Zero & enjoying the rabbits. DH has made a cardboard fort for them & they love it. So cute.
I was awake around 6.30 so made a cuppa for us to have in bed. Gave DH a “wonderful husband” Father’s Day card as DD never bothers. Felt great not to have to go to work, although a lie in would have been nice. As yesterday, I did a few bits in the kitchen whilst the tea was brewing. Still need to wipe down the surfaces & wash a few pots that can’t go in the dishwasher. Ontop of the laundry for now except DD’s Victoria’s Secret bra & thong & a bra of mine need soaking. Deadheaded a lovely plant on the windowsill & gave my beautiful M & S peonies fresh water plus a “trim”. I love them so much. They’re in a glass jug on the kitchen table. Eventually got in the shower around 11 & used a new Sanctuary spa body wash. Washed & conditioned my hair & blow dried it. I don’t use conditioner every time as it tends to weigh my hair down. Recently discovered Fudge volumising styling mousse & would never use anything else now. Had a 2nd cuppa then some leftover beans ( less than half a tin) on toast for brunch. DD & I went into town as I wanted to buy a neck fan from Boots for work. It was quiet everywhere. Guessing a lot of folks would be on the beach. Quick look in TK Maxx then bought fruit shoot ice pops in Poundland. Stopped at Spar on the way home to post the aqua shoes I sold on Vinted & to collect yet another parcel. DD had a friend round this afternoon. Oh & I went to Tescos for pizzas (DH’s choice for tea). He’s got his usual chilled chicken parmigiana & I have a frozen lasagne pizza! I may have bought strawberry Solero minis & Cadburys flake cones too. Ended up going to see DF after 5 as he’d been out with DM to buy a fan for her room at the care home. Unfortunately his present from me & DB isn’t being delivered until tomorrow but I gave him a card & a really lovely Grandad mug bought from my MS fundraiser friend. Again, DD hadn’t sorted anything for him either. We didn’t stay long as DD had an allergic reaction to something & was struggling. DH is now eating his pizza but I didn’t fancy mine yet. We’re going to watch Take That from Manchester in a bit (saw them in Cardiff on Tues & it was mind blowing!) Will be good to watch a filmed version to see clearly what we couldn’t see from front standing. Really wished I was taller than 5ft 2.5 inches! Haven’t read the thread but hope you all had a good Sunday ☀️😎☀️

lucysmam · 21/06/2026 20:33

@JacknDiane I have one drafted that basically says "sorry MY cancer and associated meds are inconvenient to my colleagues but that shouldn't mean I'm not 'allowed' to do the nice things with my own family since I spend a lot of time doing things for other people's children". I angry typed so didn't send.

Instead, I sent a very bland email with sick note attached & will wait to see what my union rep thinks tomorrow.

Glad I didn't "pop in on ht to find out why" now & have it in writing instead. Still baffled that they think they're not discriminating by doing this.

@lucysmam, i think they are just very incompetent and dont know the rules now. I think they are making it up as they're going along, which maybe was ok back in the day Not but it sure isn't ok now.
