Do you ever get little crushes on totally average men?

I am a total people watcher, and there are men I see regularly who are objectively nothing special, but just make me go all funny.

My neighbour 2 doors down is a completely average guy in his early 50s but quite fit. I have had some..... graphic dreams about him.

And, there is a guy at the gym who is probably about 38/40 and a bit overweight with a big beard, but he just has this twinkle in his eye and I love how solid he looks. We say hi to each other politely and I am sure he has no idea what I secretly think!

Anyone else get micro-crushes like this?

(I never speak to either of these men beyond quick social smile, to be clear!)

I have a completely ridiculous crush on someone at work at the moment. I keep telling myself that there's no way I'd be interested outside of work - there's something weird about work crushes!

these responses made me laugh - I currently have a crush on the DCs primary school headteacher as well as someone at work who I have worked with for ages. I get a proper boost any time I speak to either of them 😅

Love the term 'micro crush' 😅 I think we develop these as a method of getting through our shitty weeks at work.

We've just taken on a new employee, he's bloody useless at his job but such a sweet, funny doofus. He's not going to last his probation period but I love having him around 🤫

Yes, all the time, I quite often choose ‘it’s never going to happen with them’ type men - and one of the reasons can be that I don’t find them good looking - because then you can safely indulge in your fantasy and know it’s never going to be ruined!

Yes, remarkably out of the blue, on a Delaine bus, I think it was the 301 the other day. This bloke has the brightest prettiest eyes Ive seen in a long while, he was gorgeous but nothing special if that makes sense.

As it happens it wasnt our bus, so I had to get off.

I have 2 on the go at the moment, One of our GPs (I have to be very careful when I'm booking appointments for lady things as there's no way I'm subjecting him to that) is just so lovely - so kind and has a beautiful smile. The other is the guy behind the counter at my opticians - DD reckons he has a thing for me too, so we enjoy a little flirt and it brightens my day! I also have an imaginary crush which is someone I have made up from Highland Cops. I've created a whole scenario in my head, it's great fun.

Ohhh I also have an optician crush which is actually forgotten recently, in favour of my work crush! I reckon optician crush is partially based on Tom Selleck in Friends.

I once spent a whole work meeting in a cafe talking attentively and sensibly about a series of workshops I was proposing to run, whilst having a parallel train of thought about the tradesman fixing the cafe door.

That was much less sensible!

Yes . I had a gynaecologist years ago who I became totally infatuated with because he was so lovely . He looked like Shrek sadly .
