Anyone doing anything nice for Father’s Day tomorrow?

I always see loads of Mother’s Day threads but haven’t seen one for Father’s Day so far! I’ve got my partner a custom t shirt off the children, a pack of his favourite beer, some sour sweets, a “voucher” book (silly things that I will obviously carry out as our children are young!) and a box of nice cupcakes. We’ll give him these in the morning and I’ll make him a nice coffee and maybe some breakfast too.

His family are coming round for the morning so I’ll use that time to go visit my dad and come back to spend a little bit of time with them before they leave, then I’ve booked us a meal at 4pm at our favourite restaurant (American bbq 😋)

I’m really looking forward to it! I know lots of people don’t like to make a big deal of these days and that’s fine, but I do and it’ll be a nice opportunity to have a bit of a special Sunday and a reason to go out for a nice meal!

Thank you for the reminder that it’s Father’s Day tomorrow.

Nothing special really, he’s taking ds to football tomorrow morning and then cooking us dinner later 😂 although he wouldn’t want me cooking (no one would appreciate it!) and really enjoys it, he’s already marinated everything for the bbq so it’s party done).
just a regular Sunday, most mothers days are equally relaxed. The dc have all bought him something and done him a card, they’re old enough to sort it out themselves. I might make a Guinness cake though, he does love those.

That sounds like a lovely day! Nice and chilled out with some nice food, hope the weather stays nice for you. See our children are only 2 and 11 months so weekends for us can sometimes be a bit stressful and chaotic 😂 so that’s why it’s nice for us to sometimes do something a bit different and it’s always nice to have a bit of a celebration! PS Guinness cake! Wow!

Ahh yeah ours used to be less relaxed but the older 2 are adults, one of them will also be here with her boyfriend (the third is at uni) and I imagine we’ll play a few card games or something in the garden while dh bustles about cooking.
Everything has just become so lovely and chilled now they are older. People talk wistfully about the days when kids are little and I did genuinely enjoy being a mum of small kids but at no point do I ever wish I could go back there - I appreciate the relaxing weekends so much 😂
and the Guinness cake is a totally foolproof nigella one, such a crowd pleaser.

my husband has big plans in the garden tomorrow apparently . Our children are adults , he will get a card and said there was nothing else he wanted . The grandcat has sent him a Cornish pasty and cream tea hamper
