Carpooling/ride sharing platforms in UK?

I have to do a “big” (for me!) drive this weekend. Even if I’m doing all the driving, I prefer not to be alone for longer and/or more challenging drives, and this is both. I’d take DH or a friend but no one is available, so I thought I’d give ride sharing apps a go.

So far, crickets - tried blablacar and liftshare via mobility app and have had zero interest despite putting the price below the suggested one and it being what I imagine is an in-demand route (big city to popular countryside destination), I’ve also said I’m flexible on time and happy to drop people off and/or pick them up en route. Got a picture, bio, etc. up.

Had a look at co-ride and they seem to require more documents than the others - if it’s going to be a similar level of interest as the others, I’m not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze.

just wondering what others’ experience is with this - am I missing a trick?

People don’t like car shares with people they don’t know tbh. We have good public transport here (or at least far reaching) so people would rather do that.

@oliviaAustin thank you - I had a feeling that might be the case. Either way it’s good to know that I shouldn’t waste any more time on it!
