What’s this strange feeling?

I’ve started with an aching vagina and I’m not sure what’s caused it? I’m 58 post menopause, taking HRT. For the last couple of days I’ve had this kind of dull ache/burning(?) sensation down below. I’ve also had twinges of slight pain in my lower stomach. Pain is a stretch but I’m not really sure how to describe it all. I’m not in agony. No bleeding. I had a test for a uti which came back negative. I’m due a smear test in a couple of weeks time and I’m so worried about it. I’ve been ok with them in the past but since menopause I’m dreading it. I don’t think they’ll be able to do it. The doctors have been pushing me to get one and now I have this weird pain going on I’m dreading it even more. Has anyone else had this type of thing? I get constipated constantly and wondered if it could be anything to do with that? *clutching straws here.

With the constipation, I would not delay seeing a GP and asking to be referred for a scan and ideally bloods (CA125, etc). It’s possible it’s a weird menopause thing or even psychosomatic, if you’ve been worrying about the smear, but I think you need an urgent referral given the combination of symptoms. If it checks out to be nothing, great. But better to get it checked.

Had this a long time ago and turned out to be a fibroid. Don't rely on a diagnosis on here. It could be any number of things. The good thing is that you have a smear booked. Hope you feel better soon.
